Cataloged under UVC-134 and DMR-015, this 1942-S Lincoln Wheat Cent repunched mintmark variety documents the S-over-S repunching across three die stages. Stage A is identified by a die gouge appearing as a raised dot at the throat of Lincoln's portrait, with the reverse at an early die state — the pairing of these two markers makes Stage A the most reliably attributed phase of this variety. By Stage C both the obverse and reverse have progressed to late die state, where the secondary mintmark impression becomes substantially harder to resolve under normal magnification.
