Description
1942-D WDDO-003 is a doubled die obverse on the 1942-D Mercury dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling, a Class II spread toward the center, is on the date and the Y in LIBERTY, with slight doubling on the designer's initials. On the obverse, circular die scratches cover the head, and inside the upper R in LIBERTY a scratch runs WNW to ESE. Wexler notes no significant reverse markers. Bill Fivaz submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
