1942-D Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-001

Description

A 1942 date was hubbed over a 1941 date. The 1, 9, & 4 are doubled, especially the 4. The second 1 is weak showing slightly inside and below the 2. A spread to the east shows on IGWT. A close CCW spread shows on LIBERTY, especially on the LI. Die Markers: Obverse: A short die gouge runs east from the lower right 9. Reverse: The reverse has a nice RPM variety that is listed in the Wexler RPM Files as 1942-D 10¢ WRPM-004. It is a D/D Southwest.
