1942 (D) Lincoln Wheat Cent - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-009

Description

1942-D WDDR-009 is a doubled die reverse on the 1942-D Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The left wheat tip, the left dot, and E PLURIBUS show light extra thickness. Obverse: a series of vertical scratches under the chin, and another right of the upper forehead and hair curl; vertical scratches through TRUST's ST; a dot above the right arm of LIBERTY's Y, with a series of mostly vertical scratches above and right of that Y; and a mostly vertical scratch inside the lower ear. Reverse: a series of vertical scratches through the bottom of ONE's E; a vertical scratch right of the left vertical bar of CENT's N; vertical scratches through UNI of UNITED; and vertical scratches through the right-hand parts of STATES and AMERICA.
