Medium extra thickness shows on both wheat tips and E PLURIBUS UNUM. Die Markers: Obverse: A series of die scratches run north from the rim to the northeast of the 2 in the date. A series of three die gouges show to the southeast of Lincoln’s bowtie. A series of die scratches run northeast from Lincoln’s upper forehead. A vertically oriented die scratch shows in the field to the right of the upper Y in LIBERTY. A series of faded diagonal die scratches show below the G in GOD. A light, vertical die scratch runs north from the bridge of Lincoln’s nose. A die gouge runs from the rim toward the lower bust, left of the VDB initials. A series of concentric die scratches show between the rim and Lincoln’s lower bust. Reverse: Die damage shows around the first U in PLURIBUS. Areas of die damage show along the lower right edge of the O in ONE. An area of scattered die damage shows between the lower E and N in CENT. A mostly east to west oriented die scratch connects the letters E and D in UNITED. An east to west oriented die scratch shows in the field above the right edge of the M in AMERICA.
