Light extra thickness shows on E PLURIBUS UNUM. Die Markers: Obverse: A light, diagonal die scratch runs from the 1 in the date to Lincoln’s chin. A tiny die gouge (dot) shows in front of Lincoln’s lips. A die gouge (dot) shows behind the truncation of Lincoln’s bust. A short die scratch runs from the rim at approximately 8:00 well below I in LIBERTY. A die gouge (dot) shows below the R in LIBERTY. Two small die gouges (dots) show above B in LIBERTY. Light, vertical die scratches show above the TY in LIBERTY. Reverse: A small die gouge (dot) shows in the upper right wheat tip. A series of diagonal die scratches show through the T in CENT. A series of mostly horizontal die scratches run just above the UNI in UNITED. A mostly horizontal die scratch connects the D in UNITED with the S in STATES.
