Description
Obverse Stage A: Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Primary mint mark is higher and closer to the 9 than WRPM-010 and WRPM-018. Also has separation at upper serif not associated with WRPM-010 or WRPM-018. Primary mint mark is higher than WRPM-014, WRPM-015, WRPM-016 and WRPM-017. Circular die scratch between the 1 and 9 of the date. ENE die scratch from the top of the vest into the field. East by north/west by south die scratch on the upper area of the vest. Lathe marks near the rim above the OD in GOD to the W in WE. Small die gouge at the rim at 10:15. Die scratch south by east from the bottom of the T in LIBERTY. Die gouge at the rim at 7:00. Signs of light die deterioration show only near the rim. Obverse Stage B: Die scratches at the 1 and 9 are abraded away. Die scratch from the vest into the field is abraded away. All other stage A die markers are weaker. Heavier die deterioration is showing near the rim. Obverse Stage C: All previous die markers abraded away except the die gouge at the rim at 10:15. Stronger signs of die deterioration near the rim. Obverse Stage D: Die gouge at the rim still present. Very strong die deterioration near the rim showing. Reverse Stage A: Light die crack from the lower right of the second U in PLURIBUS running southwest through the upper left of the E in ONE. N/S die crack on the right wheat ear beginning at the lower right wheat grains then shifting through the upper left wheat grains. Reverse Stage B: Stage A die crack at the U in PLURIBUS is stronger. Die crack at the right wheat is still present. Reverse Stage C: New reverse die. Lathe marks near the rim above most of PLURIBUS. Reverse Stage D: Lathe marks are weaker above PLURIBUS. Light die from the left side of the left wheat tip running NNW to the rim.
