1940 (S) Lincoln Wheat Cent - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-009

Description

1940-S WRPM-009 is a repunched mint mark on the 1940-S Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as S/S East, with the secondary S east of the primary. Obverse: a light crack heading NW off LIBERTY's B from its upper left, and a crack that curves south off LIBERTY's E from its lower left. Reverse: a crack leaves the rim at 9:15, runs NE into the grains of the left wheat ear, and curves on through the upper grains; another crack runs through the middle of the left ear's grains; and a third runs through the middle of the right ear's grains and on into the wheat lines. Brian Ribar submitted the variety. The Coppercoins number is 1940S-1MM-009.
