Description
1940 WDDO-007 is a doubled die obverse on the 1940 Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. LIBER of LIBERTY and the 40 of the date show a close clockwise spread. Obverse: a short scratch just over the hair, beneath WE and between its W and E; two short parallel scratches heading northeast from the upper right of the bowtie; and a small gouge beneath LIBERTY's E on its left side. Reverse: a gouge to the right of the left wheat ear's top. Karen Peterson submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
