Description
A doubled eyelid shows to the east of the normal eyelid. Die Markers: Obverse: A curved die scratch runs south between the 1 and 9 in the date. A diagonal die scratch runs through the central opening of the 9 of the date. A cluster of die gouges show in the field below Lincoln’s chin. A series of horizontal die scratches run through the rear shoulder fold of Lincoln’s jacket. Light, concentric die scratches run from the back of Lincoln’s bust below LIBERTY. A die gouge (dot) shows behind the back of Lincoln’s bust well below the letters RT in LIBERTY. Faded, diagonal die scratches run through the letters G and O in GOD. A series of light horizontal die scratches run through WE in the motto. Reverse: Light, vertical die scratches run north from the left wheat tip. A diagonal die scratch runs through the upper L in PLURIBUS. A series of vertical die scratches show between the O and N in ONE. Multidirectional die scratches show between the E in ONE and T in CENT. A long, mostly vertical die scratch runs through the second T in STATES. Light vertical die scratches run through the lowest part of the left wheat stem.
