Description
Obverse Stage A: Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Lathe marks near the rim around the 10:00 area. Very minute die chips in the field well west from the center of the head and best viewed when looking down the I of IN. Very small die chip on the left upper area of the head positioned below the G in GOD. Obverse Stage B: Lathe marks abraded away. Die chips are very weak. Obverse Stage C: Die gouge in the field below the S in TRUST. Obverse Stage D: Die gouge is very weak. Reverse Stage A: Heavy die crack NNE/SSW running along the right wheat grains and extending weakly outside the wheat ear. Reverse Stage B: New reverse die. Series of heavy lathe gouges below the left wheat stem. Long die scratch S by E from the right ell of the T in CENT. Reverse Stage C: Stage B markers abraded away. Die gouge near the rim NW from the M of UNUM. Reverse Stage D: Weaker die gouge from the M in UNUM. Very light die crack from the upper left of the E in ONE to the B in PLURIBUS. Light die crack SSW from the rim at 3:00 then turning south, running along the right wheat ear, and exiting slightly at 4:00.
