Washington Quarters debuted in 1932, and the mid-1930s issues are among the foundational dates for the series; RPM varieties from this era are of particular interest because the hand-punching of mintmarks into working dies was an imprecise craft process, and southward displacement of a secondary impression was among the most common repunching patterns.
