Description
Cataloged by the Wexler Team as 1936-D 10¢ WRPM-011 and cross-referenced as CONECA RPM #3, this Denver Mint Mercury Dime carries a repunched D mintmark with progressive die cracking. Die markers: Obverse: A die crack runs south from the 2nd T in TRUST to the rim. Reverse: A short die scratch connects the bottoms of N and I in UNITED; a SSW/NNE die scratch between the upper N and U in UNUM. The obverse crack from TRUST to the rim follows a stress fracture through one of the motto's letter positions. Adolph Weinman designed the Winged Liberty Head Dime, struck at Denver in 1936 in 90% silver, 10% copper (2.50 g, 17.91 mm).
