1934 Lincoln Wheat Cent - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-002

Description

1934 WDDO-002 is a doubled die obverse on the 1934 Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Lincoln's eye and eyelid show a very close spread toward the west. Obverse: two scratches extend ESE from the O of GOD, one from its top right and one from its bottom right; a scratch heads NE off the date's 3 at its upper right; a SW-to-NE scratch lies between the 9 and the 3; concentric scratches circle near the rim; scratches about the height of the letters appear at most of LIBERTY; and from the top of the L a scratch heads NNE. Reverse: a crack runs SW into the field from ONE's O, starting at its upper left, and two cracks run south through the lower wheat ears to the rim, the left one ending at 7:30 and the right one at 4:30.
