Description
S/S/S West and Northwest Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Strong ESE die scratches from the upper area of the throat. Large die gouge south of these die scratches. NW/SE die scratch inside the lower left area of the 0 of the date. Die gouge between the legs of the R in LIBERTY. Obverse Stage B: Stage A scratches abraded away. New NNW/SSE die scratches right of the throat. E/W die scratches under the chin. Scratch at the date abraded away. Obverse Stage C: Scratches at the throat and chin abraded away. Reverse Stage A: Die clash at the area of EPU. Die clash at the abdomen and rear thigh area. Die clash below the Bison’s mouth. ENE/WSW inside the lower area of the A in STATES. Thin NW/SE and NE/SW die scratches through the D in UNITED and the STA in STATES. Reverse Stage B: Die clash and stage A scratches abraded away. Many ESE/WNW through the letters of USA. Reverse Stage C: Stage B scratches abraded away. New ESE/WNW die scratch between the upper area of the ST of STATES. NW/SE die scratch inside the upper area of the R of PLURIBUS. Weak secondary mintmark.
