1923 Peace Dollar - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-003

Description

1923 WDDR-003 is a doubled die reverse on the 1923 Peace dollar, cataloged by the Wexler team. A close spread shows on the olive branch and leaves and the rays crossing them, on the rays left of the eagle's lower back, and on the tail feathers left of the talons. Wexler's description does not complete the direction of the spread. On the obverse, the throat has a short gouge reaching west, NE of the top of WE's E, and SW/NE scratches sit above ST in TRUST. On the reverse, PEACE's A has a scratch under its crossbar. John A. Wexler submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
