1922-P VAM-2AB Double Clash Spikes Eagle’s Shoulder Discovered by John Roberts, September 2003. Revised 2011. 2AB (revised) II 1 · B2a (Double Clash Spikes Eagle’s Shoulder) I-2 R-6 Reverse B2a– Heavy die clashes showing as double long vertical spikes up from eagle’s right shoulder. Early die state shows a single long spikereaching bottom left of N in UNUM. 2AB II1 - B2a (Rusted Die Obverse, Long Spike Eagle's Wing) I-3 R-6 Obverse II1 - Entire obverse covered in raised dots and splotches from rusted die. Die marker- Isolated raised dot right of E in Liberty above ray. Reverse B2a- Heavy die clash showing as long vertcal raised spike from eagle's right shoulder from back of neck of obverse up to left side of N in UNUM. Clash spike a little further right than VAM-2AG and not as long as VAM-2AV. Comments: 1. The discovery piece from 2003 has the pitted obverse as well as the long doubled spike it was actually listed for. Leroy looked at the obverse back then, and passed on noting anything special about it. 2. (2BY eliminated, same as 2AB)* plus the 2BT page says its a duplicate listing of 2BY...
