''Die Marker''- Single diagonal vee shaped polishing line on left side of lower outside feather in eagle's left wing. DPIS – In 1921 dates were part of the master die so there is no variation in position. ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: Comments: # This page has been constructed to share images of a die stage that precedes the commonly recognized 1921-S VAM-1B "Thornhead" varieties. Many of the features of the one coin shown here can be seen as late as stage 1921-S VAM-1B6. # At this time, this early stage is in the SSDC Registry as VAM-1B0 (one-bee-zero) and is in the Thornhead stage set as well as the 1921-S date set. It is not a Hit List or WOW! VAMs coin, nor in those sets, as it lacks the thornhead gouges required for that consideration. # A most interesting note...the obverse of this coin was first used on the 1921-S VAM-15E.
