Description
1921-S VAM-1AB2 Die File Lines Obverse, Die Gouge O 1AB2 IV 1 · D2a (Die File Lines Obverse, Die Gouge O) (189) Obverse IV 1– Light die file lines in fields in attempt to remove die cracks. Reverse D2a– Polished die removing scratches at NE but added shallow diagonal die gouge up from left side of O in DOLLAR. DPIS – In 1921 dates were part of the master die so there is no variation in position. Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: June 2007 - Leroy split the 1921-S VAM-1AB into the 1921-S VAM-1AB1 and 1921-S VAM-1AB2. The VAM-1AB1 does not have the obverse file lines or the O gouge, but it has two die scratches at NE. The VAM-1AB2 (formerly the VAM-1AB) is the polished version of the VAM-1AB1 without the two die scratches at NE. Very similar die scratch by I in PLURIBUS as 1921-S VAM-1BJ2 and 1921-S VAM-1AD but different so please verify your obverse.
