Description
=1900-S VAM-24A Low Slanted Date, High S, Die Break Obverse & Reverse= Discovery 2016 Brent Fogelberg. Revised 2019. 24A III2 11 - C3d (Low Slanted Date, High S, Die Break Obverse & Reverse) (189) Obverse III2 11 - Radial die crack from denticles right of 9 up right side of 9 to lower hair with slight displaced field break. Occurs with Die 2 reverse. Reverse C3d -- Displaced field breaks at die cracks at U in UNITED, right star and above S OF. LVA Comments on 2019 Revision Coin # 1900-S VAM-24 different obverse die than 1900-S VAM-12--different date lateral position. # 1900-S VAM-12A die break at rev left star to U actually occurs with this 1900-S VAM-24 obverse. So, included in VAM-24A description & eliminated VAM-12A. # This coin (revision coin) has more displaced field breaks on rev than VAM-12A. Made rev of this coin Die 1 with rev die breaks and Die 2 without die breaks. Comments: # The exact same pair of dies was used to produce the 1900-S VAM-24 and 1900-S VAM-24A so feel free to look at the 1900-S VAM-24 page for more pictures. # The 1900-S VAM-24, 1900-S VAM-24A & the old 1900-S VAM-12A all have some die breakage going on with the U in UNITED (& there is a good similarity). That does not mean they are the same die - the 24 and 24A are the same as each other but they are not the same as the 12A. # 1900-S VAM-24 different reverse die than 1900-S VAM-12 (C3d v.s.C3b) ((This renders #2 & #3 of LVA comments to the realm of "errors".))
