Description
1900-S VAM-10A Near Date, High S, Break Lower Hair, Gouge Right Star Discovered by Jerry Robertson, May 2005. 10A III2 2 · C3g (Near Date, High S, Break Lower Hair, Gouge Right Star) (?) I-3 R-6 Obverse III2 2– Die break in hair above first right star and short slanted die gouge below first right star. Same obverse die as 1900-S VAM-6A Reverse C3g - IV S mint mark set high. Comments: 1. The rare (R-6) VAM-10A die state has a die gouge below and to the left of the first right star, emerging from the third denticle to the right of the date, and breaks in the hair. 2. There are also long fine die scratches through the cotton leaves and cracks and small breaks in the folded part of Liberty's cap.
