=1900-O VAM-14 Doubled 00 Top & Ear, High O, Near Date= Discovered December 2003 by O.C. Smith Jr. Reverse discovered by Charles Wallace, February 1959. Revised 2009, 2013. 14(revised) III2 8 - C3l (Doubled 00 Top & Ear, High O, Near Date)(181) Obverse III2 8 - Date set left of normal position, slanting slightly upward. 00 in date slightly doubled with left 0 on surface at bottom left outside and right 0 at top outside. No interruption of double right 0 top and with slight bulge at left top outside. ''Die markers'' - Short die gouge in center of Liberty's ear visible on all die stages. Short vertical die scratch on denticle top below right 0. Single diagonal polishing line at lower right of right cotton boll and diagonal die scratch at bottom left of B in LIBERTY. Date set further left than normal and slightly low. Reverse C3I - Normal die with III O mint mark set high. ''Die markers'' - Lines in wing-neck gap and wreath bow. ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: Comments: # VAM-14 determined to be different than VAM-35, VAM-35 reinstated December 2013. # Vertical scratch is nice in EDS versions, after some striking the PUP goes away. # Doubling on top of 0 becomes indistinct in later die stages.
