Description
1886 WDDR-001 is a doubled die reverse on the 1886 Morgan dollar, cataloged by the Wexler team. IN GOD WE TRUST shows very minor doubling, clearest along the bottom of TRU, and the tips of the eagle's wing feathers show it as extra thickness. On the obverse, a light crack sits at the base of the bust, and strong polish lines fill every recessed area of the hair, ear and nostril. Wexler notes no reverse markers. John A. Wexler submitted the variety, with photos by Brian Allen. Wexler lists no cross-references.
