'''Reverse C3a–''' Letters of In God We Trust and UNITED STATES plus left wreath have raised and depressed areas around them due to heavy buffing of die. Some die states show light die clash marks. Earliest die stages of this reverse do not show the sunken fields. Die markers - Lines in wing-neck gap and wreath bow. ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: 16, 1C1 '''Comments: # [[1883-O VAM-1C1, [[1883-O VAM-1C2, & [[1883-O VAM-1C3 all share the same reverse, but [[1883-O VAM-1C1 has a different obverse than [[1883-O VAM-1C2 & [[1883-O VAM-1C3. [[1883-O VAM-1C1 reverse comes both non-clashed & single clashed. While the [[1883-O VAM-1C2 is known to have the clashed M on the reverse, the M may also be seen lightly clashed on some [[1883-O VAM-1C1 single clash examples. Non-clashed examples are considered EDS & can be found with reflective proof-like fields. # [[1883-O VAM-1C1 obverse was also used on the [[1883-O VAM-16. # Early die stages with prooflike fields are known without sunken reverse. Obverse and reverse die markers are usable to identify this die pair.
