Possible top of 8 showing in denticle space between 8's as sharply curved bar. Five sharp top raised curved gouges at denticles 1 & 2 left stars. Ear slightly doubled at right inside on LDS. ''Die marker -''' Tiny die chip at top of E in LIBERTY. ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: '''Comments''' # You should see the chip in the `E` of LIBERTY, as plated for [[1882-P VAM-26. The EDS [[1882-P VAM-28 (full coin below) is an extremely elusive variety, 3 are known in this state (as of Jan. 2013). The early state that exhibits the 5 distinct gouges has proven to be quite rare. The Mid/late states (Former 1882-P VAM-1A or "Dot 2") of this variety are far easier to locate. # As of late 2020, the EDS is still fairly elusive and could still be thought of as rare. It is not prohibitively rare however.
