Description
=1881-S VAM-24 Doubled 18-1, S/S Left and Up= Discovered by Martin Field, October 1978. 24 III2 13 - C3c (Doubled 18-1, S/S Left and Up) (185) Obverse III2 13- 1 doubled slightly at top left of lower crossbar, bottom left and top right of vertical shaft. First 8 doubled strongly on surface at top and right inside and bottom outside of lower loop. Second 1 doubled slightly at top left of upper crossbar. Reverse C3cā IV S mint mark re-punched with original showing as a short vertical spike to right of upper loop opening and an arc within middle of lower loop opening. ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: 1881-S VAM-19, 1881-S VAM-24 :Reverse: Comments: # The exact same obverse die was used to produce both the 1881-S VAM-19 & 1881-S VAM-24. vampicker - question this claim as it would make the coin VAM 26 # The reverse die used to produce 1881-S VAM-24 has a mintmark that is VERY similar to the 1881-S VAM-7 BUT IS A DIFFERENT DIE.
