1881-O VAM-6A Spike in 8, O Tilted Left Discovered by Leonard Hinckley, February 1974. 6A III2 1 ∙ C3d (Spike in 8, O Tilted Left) (176) Obverse III2 1 - First 8 has a short die chip at top left inside of upper loop. Reverse C3d - Mint mark centered and tilted left. Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: The reverse is very similar on the 1881-O VAM-6 and the 1881-O VAM-6A. The exact same reverse die produced the 1881-O VAM-6, 1881-O VAM-6A, 1881-O VAM-37, 1881-O VAM-37A, & 1881-O VAM-37B.
