1881-O VAM-11 Spike in 8, O/O Left Discovered by Guy Messing, July 1976. 11 (revised)III2 1 - C3i (Spike in 8, O/O Left) (176) Obverse III2 1 - Normal die with Die chip in top left of first 8. Reverse C3i - II O mint mark centered, upright and set slightly to left and doubled slightly on the left inside as a thin vertical line. Slightly doubled TATES OF AMER and top of wreath towards rim. Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: This shares a reverse with 1881-O VAM-60. 1881-O VAM-11 is the later die stage with a more worn die, although no die cracks to speak of. There appear two be two additional obverses paired with this reverse (three including 1881-O VAM-60) that require further investigation.
