Leroy comments were written when 1880-P VAM-28A was still 1880-P VAM-47A. Leroy " When I made listing of 1880-P VAM-47A, only had one coin with clashed n & st which was a late die state-later than your two coins. So faint lines at lip lip must have happened on only late die state & I have changed 1880-P VAM 47 listing description to reflect that." Slight doubling of some leaves in left wreath not strong enough to mention." The 1880-P VAM-28A comes single, double, and triple clashed. 1880-P VAM-28 and 1880-P VAM-28A were both struck from the exact same pair of dies. The "Lines at the mouth/chin" occured AFTER the dies clashed - there is at least 1 example with 1 clash and NO "lines".
