Description
1880-P VAM-29 Doubled 80, 8/7 Discovered by Henry Dierkoph, October 1977. This coin is a Hot 50 Morgan VAM. '''29 (revised) III2 29 ∙ C3a (Doubled 80, 8/7) ''' '''Obverse III2 29 –''' Doubled 80 in date and 8/7 check mark similar to VAM-16. Second 8 is doubled on the lower left outside of upper loop. The 0 is doubled at the top left and right outside, but not as strong as VAM-16. First 8 has die chip on upper left inside of lower loop. Remains of 7 show on surface of left side of upper loop of second 8 in the form of a check mark. Right side of check mark is more curved than VAM-16. Clashed die with partial incuse n of In from reverse showing next to Liberty head neck. Later die state than VAM-53A. '''Reverse C3a –''' Normal die, die scratch on wing.
