1880-P VAM-24A Doubled 1-80, Clashed Obverse n & st, Reverse M Discovered March 2004 by Mark Kimpton This coin is a Super CD Morgan Vam. 24A III2 24 · C3a (Doubled 1-80, Clashed Obverse n & st, Reverse M) (179) Obverse III2 24 – Clashed die with partial n of In from reverse showing next to Liberty head neck and partial st of Trust from reverse showing in right hair vee of lower hair edge. Reverse C3a – Faint partial raised designer’s initial M from obverse showing above d in God. Notes: Later die state of 1880-P VAM-24. There is a scratch thru the initial and a die chip on the cap between the top of the cap and the left leaf. The plate photos of the chip on cheek, lines on right wing, and doubled ribbon, are most likely actually a 1880-P VAM-50/50A and not a 1880-P 24/24A. Shared reverse with 1880-P VAM-33B but has not been confirmed by LVA.
