1879-S VAM-1F1 Polished 8, Cootie Impression on Jaw Discovery 2011 by Patrick McAtee First listed as VAM-1F 1F1 III2 1 · C3a (Polished 8, Cootie Impression on Jaw) (?) Obverse III2 1 - Polishing lines within loops of 8 with slightly doubled left inside of lower loop. Same cootie thread-like thread impression back of jaw as VAM-36. Reverse C3a - Couple leaves in left wreath slightly doubled. Die marker - Fine long vertical polishing line at left side of upper tail feathers. Emission Sequence Obverse:1879-S VAM-36, 1879-S VAM-79, VAM-1F Reverse:-same reverse as vam 26 Comments: 79 S-New VAM 1F. Yes, has cootie thread impression at jaw as 1879-S VAM-36 but without the S/S Tilted Left rev (Which should be C3g designation in 2010 VAM Supplement description instead of C3q-a typo). So is new die combination with normal rev that has normal S m/m position & only couple leaves slightly dbld in left wreath not worth listing as a separate die variety. M in AMERICA slightly filled but not visible to naked eye.
