1879-P VAM-27 Doubled 879, Doubled Lower Right Reverse Discovered by Martin Field, December 1981. Revised 2017 by LD Lane aka ChiefRet. 27 (revised) III2 27 ∙ C3a (Doubled 879, Doubled Lower Right Reverse) (179) Obverse III2 27 – Doubled 879with 8 slightly at left inside and lower right outside of lower loop, 7 at lower right of vertical shaft, and 9 at left outside of lower loop. Die marker - Vertical fine polishing line at top left of B in LIBERTY up to lower wheat leaf, long vertical polishing line at hair front. Reverse C3a – Hub doubling of lower right reverse same as VAM-43 C3h but different die. Die marker - Short diagonal die scratch on upper tail feather second from right.
