Description
1879-P VAM-25 Doubled Date, & Reverse Legend + Threadlike on Bow Discovered by Steve Sabella, September 1979. Revised 2010 25 (revised) III2 25 ∙ C3p (Doubled Date, & Reverse Legend) (180) Obverse III2 25 – Entire date is doubled. Doubled 1 slightly below upper crossbar and left side of vertical shaft, 8 strongly on lower right outside of lower loop, 7 at right of lower serif and strongly on lower right of vertical shaft and 9 at left outside of both loops. Reverse C3p – Slightly doubled legend letters and outside leaves of both wreaths toward rim. Die marker - Small thread-like die impression at bottom of wreath bow. Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: November 2010, from Leroy, " Very slight dbling on ear & cap not strong enough to mention." LDS of 1879-VAM-25 was 1879-VAM-42 (now delisted).
