1879-P VAM-14.1 Doubled 879, Doubled Top Reverse Discovered by Maurice Dubreuil, February 1977. Revised 2018. Revised 2019 bjsliverfox. 14(revised) III2 14 · C3k (Doubled 879, Doubled Top Reverse) ( 179 ) Obverse III2 14 – Die 1: (AKA 1879 VAM 14.1); Doubled 879 in date. Doubled 8 at top inside of lower loop as notch, 7 on right side of lower serif and 9 on left outside of upper loop. Reverse C3k – Slightly doubled TATES OF AMERICA at bottom inside of letters towards rim, tops of In God We Trust and right wreath leaves on outside. Fine die scratches in middle of eagle's right wing. Diagonal die scratch at top of eagle's left wing and die scratch at right of wreath bow (NOT ON ALL). Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: The VAM-14 family is; VAM-14.1, 14.1A(LDS of 14.1), 14.2 and 14.2A(LDS of 14.2). They all share the same reverse die.
