1879-CC VAM-6 Tripled 1, Doubled 879, Centered CC, Crumbled Stars, Gouges Right Wreath 6 III2 5 - C3f (Tripled 1, Doubled 879, Centered CC, Crumbled Stars, Gouges Right Wreath) (178) Obverse II2 5 - Tripled 1, doubled 879. 1 tripled at bottom of base. Doubled 8 at top inside of both loops, 7 at left edge of upper crossbar and 9 at left outside of both loops. Later die states have die chips between 8 loops and below 7 crossbar. Die chips at inside of left stars and base of L, R, N & M from over polished die. Reverse C3f – Centered V CC mint mark with die chips inside and at top left outside of O in DOLLAR. Slightly doubled some lower leaves in right wreath. Small die chips at field next to 5-8 outer feathers from bottom of eagle's left wing. Heavy die gouges at inside of second leaf cluster from leaf cluster from top of right wreath. Some heavy die polishing areas at wreath bow and eagle's legs. Die used again for 1880-CC VAM-3. Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: 1879-CC VAM-6, 1880-CC VAM-3, 1880-CC VAM-3A Comments: The reverse is an earlier stage of the exact reverse die found in the 1880-CC VAM 3/3A marriage.
