Description
1878-CC VAM-22 Discovered by Martin Field, August 1979. 22(revised) II 3 • B1a (Die Chips in CC) (177) Obverse II 3– Point broken off fourth right star. Die markers– Short die scratch to right of nostril and diagonal die scratch across bottom of Phrygian cap below ribbon. Reverse B1a– Closed medium II CC’s with die chips inside both C’s. Die marker– Horizontal die scratch in middle of eagle’s right wing. '''DPIS – In 1878 dates were part of the master die so there is no variation in position. Emission Sequence Obverse: 22 Reverse: 22 '''Comments: Die marker on Phrygian cap is not present on EDS specimens. This die paring has specimens that are rotated and some that are not rotated. Occurs with rotated reverse of 26-106 degrees CW.
