Extending the design of J-1068 into aluminum, J-1070 applies the lightest available metal to the Seated Liberty half dime concept. The striking contrast between aluminum's near-weightlessness and the substantial artistic content of the Seated Liberty design creates an object that challenges the very definition of what a coin should feel like. Each aluminum half dime pattern from 1871 pushed the boundaries of numismatic possibility further into uncharted territory.
