Description
The copper version of the modified Seated Liberty half dime design introduced in J-1062, this pattern served the standard role of providing a familiar-metal comparison for evaluating the standard silver alloy variant. Copper's superior malleability often produced sharper detail reproduction than silver, making these base-metal strikings technically superior impressions of the dies despite their lack of precious-metal content.
