Description
A copper striking from the same Seated Liberty obverse and wreath reverse dies as J-1059, this half dime pattern provides the base-metal comparison piece for the series. The half dime had never been produced in copper for circulation, making every copper half dime pattern an inherently experimental object. The warm reddish-brown of fresh copper transforms the familiar Seated Liberty design into something visually unprecedented for this denomination.
