Description
The aluminum version of the youthful Liberty Head half dime, J-1067 completes the three-metal survey of this design concept. On the tiny half dime planchet, aluminum's silvery-white color creates an almost mirror-like surface when proof struck, giving the portrait an intensity of detail that belies the metal's softness. This pattern is among the most aesthetically striking of the aluminum half dime experiments.
