About This Coin
The 1869 Three Cent Patterns page groups the three-cent patterns dated 1869 in the Reconstruction Era Patterns (1866-1869) series, all struck at the Philadelphia Mint. J-676 and J-677 repeat the 1868 laurel-wreath design with a Roman numeral III and were sold in sets with the cent and five-cent patterns; J-678 and J-679 come from the regular nickel three-cent dies, and J-680 to J-682 from the regular silver three-cent dies.
