The 1869 Proof Three Cent Pattern - J-681 is a proof three-cent pattern struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Reconstruction Era Patterns (1866-1869) series. It was struck from the regular 1869 silver three-cent dies. One or two are known; USPatterns.com notes it may be a mint error on a three-cent nickel planchet.
