Description

Judd-386, Pollock-457, is the third 1864 proof quarter motto pattern. This variety presents another configuration for the motto text and its relationship to the eagle and other reverse design elements. The quarter denomination would eventually adopt the With Motto design in 1866, using a version refined through these ten combined patterns from 1863 and 1864. Struck in silver with proof finish to best represent the final intended appearance.
