Description

A rare 1788 Vermont copper muling that combines a George III obverse die (reading GEORGIVS III REX) with a Vermont reverse die. Like the 1787 Britannia muling, this piece proves that the same facility produced both authorized Vermont coppers and counterfeit British halfpennies. The use of a British obverse die with a Vermont reverse is a reversal of the Britannia muling pattern.
