Description
This 1788 copper pairs an obverse reading GEORGIVS III REX with a Vermont reverse. Vermont's second type, ordered in October 1786, has a head with AUCTORI VERMON and a seated woman with INDE ET LIB. In 1787 Harmon and his partners joined the owners of Machin's Mills near Newburgh, New York, and some Vermont dies were paired with dies made for other coppers. PCGS number 572.
