Description
A 1788 Vermont copper with the bust facing right. This is one of the final issues of the Vermont copper series, as state-authorized coinage ended with the ratification of the U.S. Constitution. Vermont was admitted to the Union as the fourteenth state in 1791, three years after copper production ceased. The right-facing bust is less common than the left-facing type for 1788.
