Peace Dollars 1921-1935

About This Series

Anthony de Francisci's design commemorating the end of World War I, selected from a competition. The high-relief 1921 issue was quickly replaced by a lower-relief version for improved striking. The series includes the 1928 Philadelphia issue (360,649 struck) as the key date. Peace dollars were the last silver dollars struck for circulation until the Eisenhower dollar.
