About This Coin
Elegant tokens struck at Matthew Boulton's Soho Mint in Birmingham, England, for Philip Myddleton's proposed Kentucky colony development. The obverse shows Hope presenting two children to Britannia, and the reverse depicts settlers clearing land. Designed by Conrad Heinrich Küchler. These are among the most beautifully designed colonial-era tokens.
