Large cents featuring Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap on a pole, symbolizing freedom. The design was introduced in late 1793 and continued through 1796, with multiple die varieties created each year. Joseph Wright designed the initial version, which was refined by Robert Scot after Wright's death from yellow fever.
