2024 (P) Rev. Dr. Pauli Murray Quarter - Doubled Die Obverse VDDO-007

Description

Medium spread on the ear and hair curl in front of the ear characterizes VDDO-007 on the 2024 Philadelphia Rev. Dr. Pauli Murray Quarter — part of the American Women Quarters program honoring trailblazing American women. Attributed by VarietyVista with provisional catalog codes (UVC and DMR pending final assignment), this business strike variety appears in early die state on the obverse, while the reverse is listed as VDDR-001, also in early die state — creating a dual-doubled die marriage with documented doubling on both sides. Pauli Murray (1910–1985) was a civil rights activist, legal scholar, author, and Episcopal priest whose work influenced civil rights legislation and Supreme Court decisions. The doubling on the ear and hair curl manifests on the portrait's most detailed sculptural elements, where even minor hub displacement creates detectable separation. Dual-doubled marriages on the American Women Quarters represent a premium collecting target within this modern series.
